I need some advice please.

I have the Sony 86cm HDTV KVEH36M31. I would like to hook up my PC to send
progressive DVD signal (720p?)to the Sony's HD input SCART.

I have an ASUS GeForce2 GTS video card installed. I also have a spare
Realmagic EM8300 card available if that helps.

Can someone please advise EXACTLY how to connect the video card to the TV?
Is anyone in the forum doing this sort of thing (rather than buying a true
progressive standalone DVD player.

Thanks in advance.

Tell you what, buy me all that equipment, and I'll experiment for you!

Failing that, try looking at

can't do it.

The only cards that can do it are a model of a Xabre sold in Japan, and the
ATi cards that support that HDTV dongle. See
http://mirror.ati.com/products/pc/hdtvadapter/index.html . Note that even
this device is restricted to 480p max when you attempt to watch DVD content
(blame Macrovision).

There is no way a GeForce can do it. Only way is to hope that your HDTV has
VGA input.

What's the Sony HD input? is it a normal Scart socket? If so, there is no
way it will accept progressive video.

No, the Sony's HD input is component.

You're right of course - it is a component Y-Pb-Pr input. So how do I get
progressive signal from the PC?

Thanks

I don't think it's possible.
