Just replaced my P3/BX setup with an Anthlon Thunderbird 900 on a Soltek KT133 motherboard. Everything is fine except the GeForce keeps freezing periodically. I run the Via 4 in 1 instaler and have set up AGp to Turbo. I've also tried several Nvidia and Creative Drivers. I've salso tried AGP set to both 2x and 4x. My system has 128Mb and Windows 98SE. Does anyone have any clues as to what else I can try?

Have you tried v4.28 of 4in1 drivers? See my posting dated 01-02-01 subkect opengl problems Your problem sounds similar but mine was only happening with opengl apps Cheers "DC" <brownsea@ntlworld.com> wrote in message news:rnEe6.4055$Ee3.112056@news6-win.server.ntlworld.com... > Just replaced my P3/BX setup with an Anthlon Thunderbird 900 on a Soltek > KT133 motherboard. It works installing VIA in standard mode (AgP 1x) but only got 5200 3dMark rate. In turbo mode (AGP 4x)3DMARK freezes after 3 or 4 seconds from running. I update all drivers, including MOBO BIOS, with no success, PCILIST program tell me that MOBO support agp4x, and so video card, but also says me that the card support fast write, but it is deactivated. I have try to activate fast writes with DCGENIE and manually using REGEDIT, but i couldnt do it. 15 days ago, I had the same system but full of programs and 3d marks rates at 5950, I dont know who. Any suggestions will be pleased, Sorry for my English. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/

> I think Ive got it. Finally i can get AGP 4X without problems on my ASUS CUV4X, and ASUS V7700. The AGP port was shared with a PCI slot, both using the same IRQ, no conflicts, but clearly AGP 4X didnt like that situation. Run PCILIST program, it will tell you if you have the same problem, if so, simply change the PCI card to another SLOT, and run PCILIST again. Must say "IRQ X not shared" on the VIDEO ADAPTER tab. thought i didnt get FAST WRITE enable yet. Any suggestion will be pleased. Bye Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/

I too am having this same problem, but I have a Asus Riva TNT2 card and the Athlon TB 1.1 GHz. I'm sorry but I have not other suggestion for you other than what you've already tried, but I will keep you in mind if I find something and would ask that you do the same. Thanks! I have had always had a 3dfx card and have recently moved to a geforce 256 I am not running the sort of spec that you are ( k62 550 on s/s 7 motherboard) but had the same "freezing" problems for weeks. I had tried all the latest reference drivers and detonators with no avail. But after a few weeks have come up with a perfect solution. I have gone back to the pre detonator drivers. I am using refernce drivers 3.90 and direct x7.0a Believe it or not my frame rates are twice what I was getting with 6x drivers and NO BLOODY FREEZING !!!! It may sound really stupid but I firmly believe that in this case newest isn't the best. Go on give it a go.... All nvidia reference drivers back to 0.1 are available from www.reactorcritical.com Hope you get it sorted Andy Meredith..
