Creative MX's are all DDR? Who has one?

The 3D Blaster Annihilator2 MX's are GeForce2 MX GPU's with 32 MB DDR. All of Creative's MX's use DDR memory? Seems that way. Almost all other manufacturers making GF2 MX's do NOT use DDR memory and they rate the bandwidth at 166Mhz to about 183Mhz. What is the frequency of the DDR memory used on the Annihilator2 MX? The GTS comes in a 32 and 64Mb version. Creative rates the memory at 333Mhz and they don't provide the speed in ns. The Ultra model has 64Mb 450Mhz DDR memory, which I can only guess is the kick ass 4.5ns DDR chips. Creative doesn't make a GTS Pro, which are basically GF2 GTS's with 64Mb 5.0ns DDR chips. Again, Creative doesn't make one of these and they don't offer the specs in regards to the type or brand of DDR chips they are using on any of their cards?? Many, maybe most, other manufacturers use 5.5ns DDR memory at 333Mhz for the GTS. Some use slower 6.0 and even 6.5ns DDR chips with higher latency. It's allot cheaper that way. So what is Creative using? Creatives original Annihilator Pro had a GeForce GPU at 120Mhz and memory at 300Mhz with the DDR chips. They commonly clock up to 150Mhz clock/360Mhz mem with extra cooling. The GeForce Annihilator with SDRAM didn't perform this way at all. right? My Annihilator Pro has 5.5ns DDR chips if I remember correctly. I have heatsinks glued onto them now but I'm nearly certain. Anyone have one of them ;) Does the Annihilator2 MX DDR overclock well? Since other MX's using SDRAM are clocked at 166Mhz/175Mhz memory . Can you expect the MX with DDR to overclock closer to the 200Mhz/333Mhz, like its brother the GTS DDR does? Or are the Annihilator2 MX's just lower performing 3D cards for a cheaper price and the DDR memory is just BS!? Creative still sells the Annihilator Pro which out performs the MX is almost every way, including 2D quality for less money. Is that really so? That is certainly so if you look at just about any other manufacturers card with the MX and SDRAM. Manufacturers like Leadtek make great GeForce 256 DDR's that can run 160Mhz core and 380Mhz memory, maybe even better with modified cooling and ventilation. But their MX's with SDRAM seem to perform as poorly as everyone else's. ??

I'm wasn't excited. I just wanted the information. I still can't seem to find any reviews. If anyone knows of any, please post them links. Are you sure about the 143Mhz memory? Or is that at single rate so DDR is 286Mhz. That must be the case otherwise the memory is 71.5Mhz at single rate and that is ridiculously too slow! It doesn't matter about the DDR MX cards. They're butt slow due to the 64 bit memory bus thus crippling it. The SDR MX cards work it like a rib. Wow!! I must have been sleeping when I wrote that last post! Or at least a few of my fingers were :) "SST" <boead@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:w6j66.1600$MX.55909@newsread1.prod.itd.earthlink.net... > I'm wasn't excited. The CL 2MX DDR is clocked at 286Mhz - I bought it thinking wow DDR like a lot of people I guess then you find out it's a 64 bit board - a 128 bit with SDR is better for sure, it's pure marketing - and it got me. All that said though it is a stable, cheap, clockable card with good but not brill performance.
