Are >you familiar with an early UNIX environment on the IBM platform called >Xenix? I didn't want to say, windows was the first OS to handle more than 640KBytes memory. There were a lot of other OS's, that could do so. But windows was the first one accepted by the masses. Blame the masses for not accepting the other ones, thats what I would like to do. And I never wrote, UNIX is roboust, because it can handle lots of memory. I said, it is over 25 years old, and so a lot of work has gone into UNIX. The new OS'es, that should replace MS/DOS, are far from being that long worked on. The permanent use of UNIX for over 25 years made it so stable. And the fact, that the developpers used it themselfes. They didn't accept any serios weakness instability. And they never accepted the demand, that every application written for it, no matter how bad it is programmed, should be able to run ad infinitum. 73, Mario -- Mario Klebsch, DG1AM, M.Klebsch@tu-bs.de +49 531 / 391 - 7457 Institut fuer Robotik und Prozessinformatik der TU Braunschweig Hamburger Strasse 267, 38114 Braunschweig, Germany
