To respond to me via email, please remove the "I_HATE_SPAMMERS" from my address: visionary@I_HATE_SPAMMERSsprint.ca ***************************************************************************** Normally, I am not interested in knowing people's salaries, but I am thinking about breaking into the games programming market. I have already decided that if I make the attempt, I am not going through a publisher. Instead, I have been aggressively researching how to market products via website (including online buying through internet commerce), and other related (non-spamming) means of internet shareware advertising and promotion. I came up with some encouraging findings. But I admit, it is clear that it would be a lot of hard work, albeit potentially worthwhile. I have also been researching statistics and reports on the most effective ways to encourage shareware users to register and buy, and what things actually keep users from registering. I was wondering if there are some shareware games developers, perhaps with there own business, that would be willing to tell me and others what kind of a salary one can expect if they take this approach. Especially if they commit to it, and work hard. Also, I would like to see what a knowledgable person in this field would estimate a hard-worker's chances out of 10 or 100, would be of striking it big. Thanks, Graham
