I've been having real problems sorting, some routing issues, connectivity
problems and we have a bit of a issue with illicit downloads from the
Internet.

I downloaded this utility called Broadcast Message Manager from download.com
and was amazed by the functions offered. I can't remember them all but not
only did it draw me a map of my WAN which quickly aided me in sorting the
routing problems as it calculates the MTU between any two points.

After looking at the other functions I found it has a real-time error
monitor! I had never seen something like this but it basically monitors all
your machines for dr.watsons, event log STOP entries, services stopping and
all application messages meaning I can see when people are having problems
in Word or Excel or any other program as well as seeing critical issues on
our NT servers. As a result we are thinking of using it on our helpdesk as
it can handle up to 50000 machine.

There is loads more functions, quering the registry, instant messaging.. the
list goes on.

Anyway, don't believe me, take a peek at it yourself. Like I said its on the
www.download.com site, just search for Broadcast Message and it should pop
up.
