Synchronising the Palm data.

Hi:

I have installed some software downloaded from the internet, e.g. diary
writer, idea management, etc.
The apps are pretty nice on my Palm, however I don't know how to get the
stuff I write into my PC.
Somehow, these applications are not in Palm Desktop.

How may I do with this problem?

Thanks.

If I understand you correctly, you're trying to sync some
Palm programs with your PC. Correct?

Sorry, but unless the program was specifically written with
that function in mind (via a "conduit"), you can't.

The other problem could be if you are installing to a different user (ie
your palm user is Fred and you are installing to Freddy)

Yeah. That is the problem I am having.
However, now when I need to reset the Palm, I copy those 3rd party apps into
my SD card.
In this way, at least I won't lose data.

Thanks for your answer.

Are you sure that the programmes aren't saving to your todo and datebook
databases? These are automatically synced when you do a hot sync. You don't
say what programmes you are using? Datebook 5 for example is really a front
end for the existing apps.

Try BackupBuddy from Blue Nomad at http://www.bluenomad.com

It backs up all your installed programs to your PC and you can restore them
in case of a crash.
