The "GoHip freevideo" issue has is almost as completely
dissimilar to Melissa as anything could be.  It has
nothing in common with Melissa except that they are
both computer related.

The GoHip thing has a lot to do with people not reading
"read this before clicking the button that signifies
your unconditional acceptance of these terms and
conditions" screens when installing software.

I am not apologizing for what the GoHip promotion does
-- in fact, I'm on record as being critical of it --
but I also cannot help but do a double-take when people
install software that does *what it claimed it would*
then complain about *that*.

And for the record, the failure of the GoHip promotion
software to a standard *and complete* uninstallation
option (at least in some versions) *is* very bad form
given the "sleight of hand" by which it got on so many
machines in the first place.
