I have a problem with a 486 PCI board. On power on, I get a CMOS mismatch error, forcing a loading of defaults. I thought it was the battery so replaced it. Even tried an external one. Now I suspect the CMOS RAM itself, or a CMOS virus. Are there any small programs which will detect such a virus, or TEST CMOS RAM etc? -- David Longley Longley Consulting London, UK Behaviour Assessment & Profiling Technology, Research, Data Analysis and Training Services, Small IT Systems http://www.longley.demon.co.uk
