>Windows 95. Every day I get a message that says either "this program has >performed an illegal operation and will be shut down" or "general >protection fault in module..." or "windows has encountered a problem in >the system registry and will be shut down" or else a big blue screen >that can only be fixed with ctrl-alt-del and others ad infinitum. You have either a corrupt istallation of Windows or not enough RAM or you are trying to run too many programs or the chipset timing is too aggressive or you have poorly manufactured components or the HDD is incompatible with the chipset on the mainboard or the drivers for your video display are poorly written. MS does not produce faulty product - it is fully tested. What one has to remember is that MS has created an OS that has to operate on many different types of computer, some of which (claim to be) 100% compatible and they are not. A case in point is the Chinese manufacturer of mainboards containing SRAM cache chips with absolutely no circuitry in them. BTW, what is the axiom about a workman and his tools? -Peter
