I am hoping someone can help me. Whenever I try and open a document from within Word I get the message: "Word has insufficient memory. Do you want to save Document 1 as Rescued Document?" I can open documents through Windows Explorer but whenever I try and "save as" the same problem occurs. I have also noticed that when I try and "open" a document from Excel, nothing happens. I did have the Nimda virus on my computer a few weeks ago and replaced the riched20.dll and loadwc.exe files. I am running Word 97 and Windows 98SE. I can't find my Microsoft Office CD and don't want to have reinstall the programs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My e-mail address is 3toedsloth@3toedsloth.com. Regards 3toed Sloth

I encounterd these same symptoms with Nimda so you may still have it. Sorry to not be of any help but after removing the virus, I had to reinstall Office. The only advice I can give is to read the various virus sites and see if they suggest something you haven't tried. Good luck Mike Honeycutt ---------------------------- 3toed Sloth wrote: > > I am hoping someone can help me. You could also try one of the Word specific newgroups eg microsoft.public.word.newusers "3toed Sloth" <3toedsloth@3toedsloth.com> wrote in message news:h4Av7.19$QH1.4021308@news.interact.net.au... > I am hoping someone can help me. I've encountered this before, you need to restore the riched20.dll, symantec has a writeup about that: http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.nimda.a@mm.html Hanni "Mark Fawkes" <mssfawkes@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:TBVv7.386$6q1.23301@ozemail.com.au... > You could also try one of the Word specific newgroups eg > > microsoft.public.word.newusers > > "3toed Sloth" <3toedsloth@3toedsloth.com> wrote in message > news:h4Av7.19$QH1.4021308@news.interact.net.au... > > I am hoping someone can help me.
