Please accept my apology for "cross-posting." I chose the newsgroups based
on where the SPAMMER had been posting today.
PROBLEM: I have been targeted by a company selling the anti-virus product
"InVircible" and by their owner "netz@actcom.co.il" (Zvi Netiv).
Today I received dozens of identical messages to my email box. Each message
"warned" me that the spammer had every intention of *continuing* such email
abuse. He and/or his company forged the headers so that *my* email address
was listed as the originating sender. (How did he do that?) So if I try
to "kill file" his messages, I will be putting my OWN email address in my
"kill file." I have, of course, sent a polite note asking to be removed
from the mailing list. My note was promptly "bounced," followed by an
increase in SPAM.
(By the way, what about the product ---- "InVircible?" How can anyone
trust the *product* when the company owner is so unscrupulous in his
advertising?????)
Is there anything I can do to stop this harassment? Has anyone else had
problems with this person or company?

Ally -- there is a "revenge spam" going out which was forged to appear as if it had come from Zvi Netiv. It was probably sent by a disgruntled former customer of his or one of the other many people he has pissed off. The actual site the spam was sent from is in the U.S., as I recall, and has no association whatsoever with any of Invincible's sites. :/ Anyone who got this -- could you forward a copy with complete headers to my spamtrap address, which is <spamtrap@hrweb.org>. Then I'll be able to figure out where it's coming from. If you email me privately and let me know what kind of software you use to read your email and what kind of account you have, I can probably help you filter this stuff out if it continues. But use the email address in my .sig file. I personally regard Netiv as a low principled snake oil spreading waste of oxygen and his program as an outright waste of money and diskspace, but unless he has sunk to new nadirs of unethical behavior, I doubt that he's responsible for your spam attack.
