Lately, my PC has been going down a little to frequently, usualy with the
message, that it misses an *.vxd file. The error is not reprodusable.

I have discoveres that everytime I even restart my computer, strange files
and directories are created in my "windows\help" directory.

Over an unknown period of time (I don't know when the problem started) it
created more than 22 mb worth of trash in unexecuteble files, and empty
directories, that I still wasn't allowed to delete.

After finaly through the DOS promt removing _all_ files from the directory,
and the having the computer shut down (power out) and restarted, these files
had been created in the directory:

Ooaa8qab.ese
ahhswuic.8xh
cebxkgei.qrg
gybbwc-.cx0
yuch4fdr.0jf
Zs24o6gi.d3I

An avp-scan came up with the followin (from report.txt):

------

   AVP32 Scan 27-10-1998 08.42.11

C:\Programmer\FοΏ½lles filer\Microsoft Shared\DAO\DAO3032.DLL corrupted.
C:\Grafik\Pcsfiles\POPULAR.CAG corrupted.

Scan process complete.

I'm trying to close in on the problem. Could any of you wise fellows help me
narrow down, if I have a virus-, a software-, or a hardware problem?
