Oops wong account again <shakes head>
Hi,
Im pretty new at this. Just wondering about a few things.
For the best accesability (cross-platform, system, browser etc) and to make
a site data-driven, personalised, secure and most importantly quick would i
be right in assuming server-side programming?
If so would ASP with VBscript be the way to go or is JSP the future? What
are the differences?
In either of these cases where should i start? I know basically how it
works
and have background in VB and HTML however what environment is best to
develop in? Notepad, Visual Studio, Hotdog (or other web editor)?
Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated
If my ignorance causes anger take three deep breaths and move to the next
post :)
Thanks
Jake

My preference (And this runs on NT and UNIX platforms) would be PHP / mySQL / Apache ( http://www.php.net http://www.mysql.com http://www.apache.org - tutorials for all three at http://www.devshed.com). You can use any text editor you like, 1st Page 2000 does a good job of highlighting the HTML without mucking up the PHP. http://www.evrsoft.com/1stpage/ David Dorward http://www.dorward.co.uk/
