And MI5, who would've been compelled to open the attachment could've had
their nasty minded little e-mail monitoring scheme crippled (if it
existed)

If for no other reason than that they had to cope with a sudden influx of
the virus from outside sources that have them in their address book (I'd
hate to think how many Outlook users might have "president@whitehouse.gov"
in their address book!)

Personally, I received three copies of the virus from complete strangers,
and none from anyone I know, before the ISP I use started rejecting any
further "ILOVEYOU" messages. Of course, by taking appropriate measures, I
wasn't affected.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the comma - without that, I was reading it in all sorts of
different ways that just weren't making sense. Now I see the comma, it
makes perfect sense, and I wonder how I managed to get so confused over the
initial posting. :-S

So, in order to complain about a ten-line sig, you post a 62 line (as
counted by the "Lines" header) waste of space? <sigh> Then you do it
again. <sigh strength=extreme> What next, emailing everyone to let them
know that spam is bad? :-)

Hey, I actually got something like that a couple of days ago! It was a
piece of spam claiming to be advertising an anti-spam web site,
antispamhelp.cjb.net. Following the link actually took me to a web mall
(well, at least it wasn't a porn site).
