We are the Consulting Division of Sun Microsystems and we have an
IMMEDIATE need for a Senior IT Architect for the North Eastern United
States..

As a Sun Professional Services Technical Architect you will be
responsible for providing technical consulting, leadership and
technical  management within engagements.  Within the framework of the
engagement, the IT Architect works under the direction of the
Engagement Manager to deliver complex technical solutions to the
customer's stated business requirements. The IT Architect is
responsible for the DESIGN, development, and identification of key
technologies in ARCHITECTING theseTECHNICAL SOLUTIONS using
Professional Service methodologies, best-of-breed products  and
generally accepted principles and practices. 


This person will be an expert in multiple RDBM's including SYBASE,
ORACLE and INFORMIX as they relate to the Sun Solaris environment.
Skills also  required are an in-depth knowledge of Veritas Volume
Manager, Storage  solutions and Cluster software.  The position
entails troubleshooting,  performance monitoring, analysis and tuning
of the database and the underlying systems environment.  The ability
to design solutions, prepare documentation and conduct yourself as a
professional consultant is a must.   A major requirement of the job
will also be to work independently but still function as a part of a
bigger team.

Major Activities/Key Responsibilities:
   - Design, develop and deliver quality solutions to complex
     technical  problems using defined methodologies.
   - Provide supervision and technical leadership at the area level.
   - Consult with customer senior management on project status and
     technology.
   - Identify opportunities for new business within the customer base.
   - Assist in the production and presentation of statements of work,
     project plans and estimates.
   - Responsible for developing technical solutions on large/multiple
     engagements.
   - Participate in projects as a tecchnology leader, team leader and
     individual contributor.
  - Typically requires Bachelor's Degree and 12+years  of technical
    consulting experience.
