Hello,
I really need help on this one !
I've got a new Harddisk and I tried to install this on a 486-VIP-IO2
motherboard (486DX)
The new HD was not detected by the IDE HDD AUTO DETECTION properly. It was
detected as a 148 MB disk instead of a 6,4 Gb disk !
Anyhow the disk could be formatted as a FAT32 partition and Windows95 was
installed.
Problem :
* 2 messages appeared in Windows :
-> Compatibility mode paging reduces overall system performance
-> MasterBootRecord Modified - see imported details (something about
virusses, blabla ...)
* My CDROM was working as if it was working under windows3.11 and my
zip-drive wasn't detected anymore
* Information about the file-system : 'all drivers are using MS-DOS
compatibility -mode
After retrying I concluded their could be a problem with the BIOS. I
deceided to re๏ฟฝnstall my old HD.
After installing the old HD, which worked fine, I wanted to upgrade the
BIOS. Because of some problems during this (insufficient memory...) I
couldn't upgrade this BIOS.
After rebooting the system I got the same problem as with the new HD before.
In my bootlog.txt following drivers failed loading :
- ndis2sup.vxd
- ebios
- vshare
- EBIOS (what's the difference with ebios)
- initcompletefailed = SDVXD
It's not an easy problem but I really need some help on this one and no one
could help me untill now.
thanx in advance
