Help needed for modem setup

I am currently using a 14.4 K Banksia modem to connect to the Internet.

I recently upgraded to a 33.6 K KTX voice modem and haven't been
successful in getting it to work. I can dial out with it and the sever
home page will occasionally come up. I can't use the newsgroups, e-mail
or WWW with it though.

I need to know if how to check if I have the right serial port. The user
manual says I need a RS232C port. How do I check if I have this type. The
computer is a DX4 100 with 24 meg.

Anyone got any other solutions or could it be a faulty modem.

Thanks to all
