How can I fix the problem? Almost certainly nothing to do with DMI Pool Data (aka NVRAM), though resetting BIOS PnP would prolly fix it if it was. This is typically the very last message displayed by the BIOS, so anything that causes a lockup in the earliest phase of disk boot would do this, including: 1) Bad boot sector or disk 2) Misconfigured or really bad RAM 3) Overly-aggressive CMOS chipset settings Classic case is where a UMC chipset 486DXn mobo is using EDO RAM, and loses the CMOS contents (possible giveaway; autodetects all IDE devices on startup) including the setting to enable EDO support. Without EDO support enabled, such systems do exactly this.
