HELP: WIN95/UltrasoundMax conflict. Also, advice on AWE32.

I have a Gravis UltrasoundMax which I bought about two years ago which I
can't get to work with WIN95. I originally had it installed with Win 3.11
and had it working (after a fight). Then I switched over to WIN95. BOOM!
Now it refuses to work. I've tried everything. I have all the latest
installation software and WIN95 drivers from Gravis and I've tried
installing it on three different computers (all with WIN95). It works fine
under DOS (free of windows) but when I try to boot up windows and install
the drivers, the system hangs. I have followed the installation guidelines
to the letter and have tried every combination of IRQ's, etc. Tech support
is useless (surprise!) My only guess is that the soundcard doesn't like
the fact that our computers are networked. Unless somebody has a magical
answer to solve this problem, I'm going to give up and look for a different
card. In that case, can anyone tell me what they think of SoundBlaster's
AWE32? Any problems? How does it sound? I'd love to hear from anyone who has
had any experiences with either of these products.

Thanks,
Kyle

I have a gus max working out of the box on win3.11 and afetr a fight on
95.
I also have some bad experience with network cards.
So are you using a networkdriver under DOS if the soundcard words?
and if so, is this card autoconfiguring?
Because these PnP and autoconfigure cards are made for dummys with only
one card in their machine. And are a pain in the neck for Linux users.
If I were U I check if the networkcard is autoconfiguring it self in the
same adress space or irq or DMA or whatever as the GUS. PS the IRQ of the
GUS can be set by JUMPER. So it is fixed on that number!

Greating Paul

PS I'll guess we'll never get a NT4.0 driver for the gusmax considering
the state of the 95 driver.
