I took a quick look to compare the Snopes version with the page
referenced earlier in the thread. It seems they are quite different
and this newer version is much more evil and unbelievable.

Some of the differences...

Snopes: Be a little gay and a little more interesting. His boring day
may need a lift.

Evil Page: Be a little gay and a little more interesting [for him]. His
boring day may need a lift [and one of your duties is to provide it.]

Snopes: Greet him with a warm smile and be glad to see him.

Evil Page: Greet him with a warm smile [and show sincerity in your
desire to please him.]

Snopes: Don't complain if he's late for dinner. Count this as minor
compared with what he might have gone through that day.

Evil Page: Don't ask him questions about his actions or question his
judgment or integrity. Remember, he is the master of the house and as
such will always exercise his will with fairness and truthfulness. You
have no right to question him.

Snopes: Listen to him: You may have a dozen things to tell him, but the
moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first.

Evil Page: Listen to him. You may have a dozen [important] things to
tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk
first [ - remember, his topics of conversation are more important than
yours.]

Snopes: Make the evening his: Never complain if he does not take you out
to dinner or to other places of entertainment;

Evil Page: Never complain if he comes home late or goes out to dinner or
other places of entertainment without you.

And, of course, the final punchline that is missing from the Snopes
original...

Evil Page: A good wife always knows her place.

It's a bit like rewriting bible passages from things like "Turn the
other cheek" to "Turn all the unbelievers into dog food". Not the same
message at all.

Anthony
