I couldn't believe it when I got AT&T's recent bill. Talk about a ripoff and
an outrage. Here's a condensed version of my bill:

Direct Dialed Long Distance Calls: $8.55

Two payphone calls totaling 3 minutes:  $2.93

That leaves a total for all calls at: $11.48

Now for the fun part:

Pay Phone Usage Charge: .60
Minimum Usage Charge:  $3.23
Universal Connectivity Charge:  $2.79
Carrier Line Charge:  $2.55
Federal Tax:  .63
Infrastructure Fund Reimbursment:  .26
Local Tax:  $.06
State Tax: $1.33
USF Charge: .16
Poison Control Charge: .02
911 Surcharge:  .02

This leaves a total for fees, charges, supplements and bullshit of: $11.65.
(MORE THAN MY ACTUAL CALLS!) CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS!

I know some of these fees are mandatory, but I have already switched to
another carrier, where fees and things are much cheaper.
AT&T has stuck it to me for the last time, and if your smart you'll drop
this money grubbing, greedy company too. There are over 50,000 newsgroups
and It will take me over a month, but I'm going to try to post this on every
unmoderated newgroup I can. AT&T SUCKS
