Receive no worries. It seems to "queue" ok and sometimes, only sometimes, upon logon, it tried to send to the POP server but I get sendmail errors, TCPIP failure or something. I must say it is reassuring to know I'm not the only poor sod. Welcome to the information loway. after having it work for a few [glorious] moments several times plus having to not only reinstall DOS 6.2 and Windows 3.1 and OS/2 Warp/NOT AND having to reformat my hard disk at least 4 times (all of this over 1 week), I deleted OS/2 Warp/NOT from my hard disk. I have now gone back to good old reliable Windows and I am looking for somebody to buy this CD version of OS/2 Warp/NOT. I'm sure it would help if I had a 486 with 16 of RAM, but I dont.... sendmail tries to do a reverse name lookup on startup and if that
fails it assumes that tcp/ip isn't running.
The solution is to add your IP address and name to the
\tcpip\etc\hosts file.
Mine has (among other entries):
192.0.2.1 rupa
(oh, and a subtle reminder that there is a "good" REXX login script in
ftp.netcom.com:/pub/rupa/tia (check the ReadMe). It has a decent
dialer (get through netcom's busy signals and *** Host not available
*** crap) and is how the slipup.cmd file SHOULD be. (IMO)

Some how I managed to get this news article through to my system with out being subscribed. Oh well. Since I've got your attention, can you give me your opinion on OS"/Warp, as I am completely pissed off with Windows crashing all the time and wondered if Warp is any better? Thanks in advance, Ric
