The United States General Accounting Office has released a report entitled Information Superhighway: An Overview of Technology Challenges (GAO/AIMD-95-23). An electronic version of the 84 page report is available in ASCII text or Acrobat pdf format. The report may be retrieved from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration's (NTIA) world wide web or a gopher site (URL gopher.ntia.doc.gov or http://www.ntia.doc.gov; menu entry "Other Information Sources"). The ASCII text (GAO_infobahn.txt) and the Acrobat pdf (GAO_infobahn.pdf) versions may also be retrieved via anonymous ftp from the host ftp.digex.net. The report files and a windows version of the Adobe Acrobat reader v. 2.0 (acroread.exe) are in directory /pub/access/mjdolak. The text and pdf versions may also be retrieved using E-mail. For example, to retrieve the Acrobat version of the Information Superhighway report, send E-mail massage to ftpmail@decwrl.dec.com. Include the following lines in the body of the E-mail message: connect ftp.digex.net chunksize 25000 chdir /pub/access/mjdolak get GAO_infobahn.pdf quit
