How can anyone say that there are no areas where > there is an extremely low chance of groundwater contamination? Also, ground water, as such, does not travel through solid rock, and will not travel very far below the surface at all. Drill a shaft, or let the disposal unit drill it' own shaft, down to about 3-4 miles, and ground water is not a likely problem. I thought the most interesting disposal schemes involved injection into the subduction zone. The material comes back then promptly after a few hundred thousand years or so, thoroughly mixed with the rest of the molten lava.
