I talked about concervation before in another post while talking about
running a privatized factory. To repeat:
When I took over a government run sign factory (primarily highway signs)
we switched from using a 17 kilowatt heat press reflective sheeting
applicator to two squeeze roll applicators (one hand powered & one with a
1 HP electric motor). I replaced the trichloroethane (which is a high
level greenhouse gas, and which may impact on the ozone layer) in the
vapour degreaser with safer chemicals. We set up solvent recyclers. We
recycled cardboard and paper years before the provincial government
mandated it (saved us 150 a month in garbage disposal fees). We recycled
aluminum and steel scrap which had previously been disposed of. We donated
off cut plywood to local schools. We donated tens of thousands of dollars
worth of scrap reflective sheeting for children to use on their bicycles
and Halloween costumes, etc (I still have a bunch in the basement if
anyone wants some, for bikes e-mail me). Most of all, we made our products
of a high quality so they wouldn't have to be replaced as often (although
porcupines occasionally eat some of our plywood signs).
One of my jobs before that was for a wholesaler which sold (amoung other
things) 2 or 3 semi's of fiberglass insulation a week.
What have you done?

-It's okay to disagree with me. However, once I explain where you're
wrong you're supposed to become enlightened & change your mind.
Congratulating me on how smart I am is optional.
