How many Sellafields? How many billions of taxpayer dollars. If this was all such a good idea the bankers would be lining up to invest. They are not. Moody's investor service lowered the credit rating for the majority of nuclear invested utilities. Why? Stranded costs. The same reason why utilities with aging nukes are scrambling to unload them at bargain basement prices. Nobody wants to be caught holding the hot potato. The continued use of nukes for power gaurantees an ever growing mass of high, intermediate and low level waste that will long outlive any gain from the power generated. That spells UN-sustainability. The waste problem is not solved. Catchy phrases like "closed nuclear fuel cycle" sound great but that's small comfort if you live downstream of the reprocessing plant. -- Windpower, over 13500 mw sold. Assuming a 20% Capacity factor, that's over 28,955 1980 F-100 equivalents !! Regards , Tim O'Flaherty
