Terry Pratchett is a wonderful person, as well as a wonderful guest to
have. He goes out of his way much of the time, and he seems to thrive on
fandom, unlike many good authors. Missed seeing Pat Cadigan when I was
at OryCon last month.

As for CreationCons (an earlier part of this tread,) we don't need them
as a "filler" for real cons in the Seattle area... we've got at least 1/2 a
dozen general conventions within a 3 hour drive of downtown Seattle, and
several specialized (one media, couple gaming) conventions. Another hour
or two will get you to 3 more conventions. And we've had WesterCon
locally for the last 3 Northwest ones (local within 3 hour drive.) Most
local fans think the creationcons are a joke, and few attend. It's
mostly the fans who don't know about real cons that go.
