Fan Guest of Honor:
Paublo "Doc" Fraga: Cos'Play MC Extraordinare!
In addition to our industry-famous Cos'Play/Masquerade, our schedule
will be packed tighter than Kei's . . . weapons locker. Our guests
and staff will be giving Panels and Workshops on cell-painting,
costuming, music, writing, and more! Our Art Show will be falling
over itself with entries chock full of talent, many of which will
be for sale to convention attendees! Our Model contest will have
figures so realistic you'll wonder if you've been turned into a Zentraedi!
One of our most popular events, the Katsucon Exhibitor's Hall will have
more dealers than you can shake a hyper-dimensional hammer at!
*****Cos'Play/Masquerade/Costume Show*****
Do people tell you that you dress funny? Or even that you dress like
an Anime character? Well, don't just stand there, prove it! Running on
Saturday night just before the dance, the Katsucon Cos'play/Masquerade is
open to both novices and experienced costumers alike.
Last year's show had over 40 entrants showing off some of the strangest
and most imaginative costumes and on-stage acts ever seen, thanks in part
to the efforts of our current FanGoH. This time around, not even the
Guardians of Jurai will be able to control the fun, so bring your best
costume and an indestructable camera. Remember to pack enough film!
If you don't feel like entering the contest itself, feel free to roam
the halls in insane outfits and befuddle our Security Staff. Please
remember that some restrictions will apply, and not all veggies will be
in season. And of course, no costume is No Costume.
*****Art Show*****
Fan-art and Anime have always gone together like Totoros go with trees.
So come to the Art Show and see what's grown since last year! We'll
be featuring both two and three dimensional sprouts, many of which will
be offered for sale at the Art Auction on Sunday afternoon. Artists,
please note that space will be allocated on a first-come, first serve
basis, and that mail-in art cannot be accepted. No photocopied art of
any kind will be accepted, and the Art Show reserves the right to refuse
any piece that it deems unacceptable. There is no hanging fee for art
submissions.
***KARAOKE*KARAOKE*KARAOKE*KARAOKE*KARAOKE***
Well, people asked for it after Katsucon One. We gave it to them at
Katsucon Two. They loved it. So, who are we to argue? It's *baaack*!!
We're Katsu, so come on in and ham it up to some of the most popular
anime music in classic karaoke style!
***Exhibitors***
An excellent place to watch money spontaneously transform itself into
Anime videos, CD's, LD's, posters, models, manga, and just about anything
else you can imagine. Okay, so maybe those nice people standing behind
the tables have something to do with the process.
A partial list of confirmed dealers includes:
Aria Press * Comic Anime * Comics and Things * Image Trading Company *
L&L Collectables * Laser Perceptions * Musashi Enterprises *
Paradigm Entertainment * Planet Anime * San Francisco Laserdisk *
***** Video Game Tournament *****
Think you've got what it takes? Here's your chance to prove that you're
the best of the best! Satan City Productions presents the second annual

welcome. Prizes will be awarded, so be prepared to kick some fan-boy!

*****Katuscon 3 Music Video Contest Submission Guidelines*****:
1. LABEL your tape!!! This is VERY important! Put your name and address
on the label, as well as the name of the video source, soundtrack,
and performing artist.
2. Please keep a copy of your video!! If you desire, we will make every
effort to return your tape (see Rule #10). However, accidents, thefts
and fires DO happen, not to mention the dreaded tape-eating VCR!
3. Videos should be submitted in VHS format ONLY, preferrably SP mode.
No SVHS, Beta, 35mm or IMAX film please!
4. Video length should be about five minutes or less. For instance,
submitting a video set to the Beatle's "Hey Jude" is a BAD idea.
5. Two videos maximum per contestant please! If you send a tape with
more than two videos, be sure to indicate which ones you want entered
in the contest. Otherwise we will pick one for you, and it will
probably be the one you DIDN'T want us to use. :)
6. Original videos only!! Please don't send us a video that everyone
has already seen, or one that is making the "convention circuit".
7. Be tasteful. We can not accept videos with gratuitous nudity or
overly-explicit lyrics. If we can only show your video after
midnight, it's not going to appear in the contest.
8. If you would like to submit a non-competing video, be sure to state
"NON-COMPETING" on the tape label. A non-competing video still counts
as a video entry; it just won't show up on the voting ballot.
9. Send your VHS tape WITH LABEL, along with the following information to
the address below.
Your name (this will appear on the voting ballot)
Your address (include E-Mail address if applicable)
Name of the source video (if multiple sources were used, say "VARIOUS")
Name of the soundtrack
Name of the performing artist
Write "NON-COMPETING" on the label if you don't want your video to
appear on the voting ballot.
Send to:
Katsucon Music Video Contest
708 W. Jasper Rd.
Sterling, VA 20164-5015
Confirmation of receipt will be made via E-Mail or Postal Service.
10. If you want your tape returned, include a self-addressed stamped
envelope. Otherwise your tape can be picked up at the convention
itself.
11. All entries must be postmarked by February 14, 1997. Late entries or
at-the-door entries will not be accepted. Katsucon can not be held
responsible for damaged, lost, or misdirected mail.
12. Katsucon Senior Staff members and Department Heads are not eligible
to enter the music video contest, but may submit non-competing videos
(see Rule #8).
13. Katsucon reserves the right to refuse any submitted video for any
reason, so be nice! ;)
