Okay, so I'm looking for a general discussion of fiction, and this seemed to have been the first one on the list. There were a few newsgroups dedicated to single authors, but none of them wrote the book that I finished last night. Guy Gavriel Kay is a writer from Toronto, probably most known for his Fionavar Tapestry series. Since there were no messages here when I subscribed, I can only wonder if anyone is even going to read this. Regardless, I think what I am about to say should be said. _A Song for Arbonne_ is classic Kay. It's got all the elements of Romance, War, History, and Love embedded in it to the hilt. Has anyone else read it? I got a copy as soon as I could from the local library. After I had read Kay's _Tigana_, I didn't expect to be disappointed by his latest offering. And I wasn't. I don't know if anyone even knows about him or not. There was some discussion about him on FidoNet, and he seemed pretty well known. Better than I expected, in fact. But I still don't see him getting the notoriety he deserves. He's a fantasy writer of works very uniquely his own. But then, who am I to say how much he deserves? I just know that I haven't been disappointed yet by anything of his that I've read.
