PRICE HILL - A 13-year-old girl who was an innocent bystander was caught in the crossfire of a street gun battle in the 1600 block of Dewey Avenue and shot late Wednesday, Cincinnati police said today. The girl, who was hit in the leg, was taken to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and should recover, police said. No arrests have been made yet, but officers are searching for the occupants of two vehicles, a silver PT Cruiser and a black Chevy Malibu. Men inside those cars were spotted shooting at each other about 9:30 p.m. This is at least the fourth child this year who is an innocent bystander shot by bullets meant for others in the city. They include: a 4-year-old boy shot in the leg about 7:20 p.m. March 19 on Blair Avenue in Avondale; a 15-year-old boy shot in the leg while riding his bicycle down Borden Street in South Cumminsville about 7:37 p.m. on May 24 and a 15-year-old girl shot in the neck just last week on Vine Street near Green Street in Over-the-Rhine.
