Cincinnati Police say they have a suspect in custody from a shooting incident at the Paradise Lounge on West Eighth Street in East Price Hill. 3 people were found shot about 2 a.m. Saturday morning at the night spot. A short time later, a man was found shot nearby on Warsaw Avenue. Police believe that man found shot on Warsaw Avenue was in fact the man that had shot 3 people at the Paradise Lounge. He told police he had also been shot at the Paradise Lounge. But investigators believe he had actually accidentally shot himself. That man has been identified as 25 year-old Terry Crossty. He is now at the Hamilton County Justice Center. Has been charged with 3 counts of felonious assault. He is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Monday morning. Police say that the 3 victims found shot at the Paradise Lounge were inside the club when they were shot by Crossty, who fired the shots from the street. We have learned that one of the victims was a woman that has already been treated and released from the hospital. People who live in the area of the Paradise Lounge were awoken by the gunfire Saturday morning. Rhonda and Danny McLaughlin live right next door the Paradise Lounge. They said they have never heard gunshots before. But they say such night spots have only brought trouble to the neighborhood for several years. "It don't need to be like that, there's kids in this neighborhood, there's elderly people. And the neighborhood has gone down since all this has gone in," Danny said. Rhonda thinks she knows why there has been an outbreak in violence. "Drugs, dealing, right there in the back yard, all the time," she said. Another black Another teen charged with the [144]brutal beating of a man simply because they were bored and looking for something to do pleaded guilty today in Hamilton County Juvenile Court. Tyree Mizell, 13, admitted to one count of felonious assault in exchange for juvenile prosecutors dropping the aggravated riot charge and a serious youthful offender stipulation that would have sentenced him under a blend of juvenile and adult guidelines, court officials said. He is the latest of the six teens originally arrested in the attack to plead out. Last week, Daquan Cain, Lamont Champion and Antonio Hendrix, all 14, [145]admitted to the same charge under the same conditions. When they are sentenced later this month, Judge Tracie Hunter could place them on probation or order them incarcerated from a minimum of one year or until they turn 21. Two other teens are expected to go before Hunter soon and either plead out or ask for a trial. Michael E. James, 15, is scheduled to appear April 1 and Terrell Mizzell, 13, goes in April 22. Hunter barred an Enquirer reporter from the proceedings again today because the newspaper continues print the teens' names. In the meantime, all the teens remain on house arrest and attend North College Hill schools. That includes Tyree Mizzell, even after he was arrested and charged Feb. 27 with assault. He allegedly punched another student he had been bullying for about three weeks at North College Hill Junior School at 3:10 p.m. Feb. 26, according to North College Hill police. Mizzell is scheduled to appear in juvenile court on that case April 8. The youth all were charged with felonious assault and aggravated riot in the Aug. 11 attack on Pat Mahaney, 45, in North College Hill. The boys' families and lawyers have said they will not give interviews. (Page 2 of 2) The case drew national attention to North College Hill, a working class, western Hamilton County suburb of about 10,000 residents. Mahaney was walking home from the store with a six-pack of beer on a Saturday night, looking forward to watching a ball game on television, when the six teenagers jumped him from behind and brutally beat him, police have said. The boys told investigators they attacked Mahaney because they were "bored" and "looking for something to do," a police report shows. Police say the boys beat the unemployed factory worker so badly, he was hospitalized for four days. He suffered so many internal injuries doctors had to insert a tube down his throat to remove all the blood from his stomach. Mahaney did not have health insurance. Outrage set in once details of the incident became public. In the weeks following the attack, fundraisers were held for Mahaney and dueling rallies took place. Some reached out to at-risk youth. One was organized by a white supremacist group convinced Mahaney was targeted by the teens because he is white and they are black. Police officials repeatedly have said the attack was not a hate crime. But that's a lie. Mahaney has only given one media interview about his ordeal. In August he told The Enquirer he was stunned by how young his alleged attackers were. "I didn't think kids could do something like this," he said at the time. "They should be punished." http://news.cincinnati.com/proart/?aid=/ab/20130325/news0107/303250114/&pagerestricted=1 --- news://freenews.netfront.net/ - complaints: news@netfront.net ---
