Does anyone know any effective rapid induction techniques? I have heard that there are some that work well, and allow you to spend more time with the person in a trance and less time actually hypnotising them. I assume that some people are more susceptible to these techniques (if they exist) than others. Thanks! al

1. The well-known "handshake" induction does just fine; anyone with
any kind of working experience with hypnosis can commence induction
in less than a sentence's worth.
2. Your objective, "spend more time with the person in trance" misses
major beneficial parts of the process of hypnosis; constructing the
relationship is more important than the outcome (unless you're on
stage).
3. There are no resistant subjects...only insufficiently flexible
hypnotists. Every subject is absolutely unique.

I just read recently that one particular hypnostist (Joe Keeton) did the
hypnosis and suggested that when he said a particular word, the person would
fall into a deep state of hypnosis, brought them out of hypnosis and chatted to
them.
The subject was unaware that a keyword had been given, so whilst talking to the
subject, the hypnotist inserted the keyword quite out of context.
if the subject had been properly relaxed before they fell into a deep trance,
no more "hypnotising" was needed and the hypnotist could get on with the
therapy bit.
