There have been a lot of calls from people interested in different methods of self-hypnosis. I think that the demand is sufficient to justify the posting of any relevant information on self-hypnosis to the group instead of by Email, whether it be good book titles or an in-depth article. COULD SOMEONE PLEASE POST THIS INFO TO THE GROUP!!! Yours quietly, Alex.

Still, I'd like to add a thought here. Antonio noted that he'd read a book, yet still seeks info due to lack of success. When I tried to learn this skill, I had a similar experience. I read several books, some of them good, yet still couldn't induce a trance. In my experience, two things helped me progress. First, I needed to identify my own trance state. I'd in fact achieved what I'd call a moderate level of trance, but was expecting dramatic effects. I'd been trying to "reprogram" behaviors, and create instant changes. While this is probably possible in a moderate state, a beginniner is unlikely to manage it effectively. So my suggestion is, practice. Also remember that your subconscious may be taking care of you by not accepting what may not be a well thought out suggestion. Secondly, I went to an MD who practiced hypnosis for his help in deepening my state. This was well worth the cost of the two sessions. The toughest part of that decision for me, was trusting the hypnotist. Thus choosing an MD helped me somewhat. I was very clear with him that my goal was increasing my effectiveness with self-hypnosis, and that I had no "problems" which he needed to cure. I hope this is helpful. I'd like to encourage anyone who's interested in this skill, to pursue it. I practiced for several years, and gained greatly from it.
