Here's something I was inspired to write as a testimony to the fun we all have with ALPHALINK. It was inspired to the funniest song I've ever heard, Imperial Rhapsody by Stephen Cavanaugh, a Star Wars parody in similar vain. Please post it anywhere you feel it is relevant, remember, there are plenty Alphalinkers and Netspacers around especially on IRC. And everyone, even Alphalinkers, enjoy a good laugh over the esteemed ISP. To bring you up to date of our Alphalink antics, Grant Kinkead is the main administrator, while Brett Murphy is the tech guy. Two classic quotes overheard in their monthly news letter were Kinkead musing on Alphalink's latest connection dilemma, "Why is life like that?", and declaring he and Murphy had a Guiness stacked away for moments just like these. Have as much fun as I did writing it, Flem _ALPHALINK Rhapsody_ (sung to: Bohemian Rhapsody, Queen) ALPHALINKER: Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Eight hours per day For a meagre flat yearly fee. NETSPACER: Open your eyes Take a look at these guys and see. ALPHALINKER: I'm just a poor boy, I need those dodgy fees Because I IRC, FTP Little life, little sleep. Anywhere the bandwidth blows, doesn't really matter to me, to me. Kinkead, just dropped the line. Pinged the file server's end, Clicked the button, now it's dead. Kinkead, transfer was almost done, But know I've gone and lost the goddamned MOV. Kinkead, ooooooo. Didn't mean to make you cry, If I'm not on-line again this time tomorrow, You know why, carry on, as if nothing really happened. Too late, my time has come Two hours in peak time Now I'm booted off the line. Goodbye, everybody, I've got to go Gotta leave you all behind until midnight. Kinkead, ooooooooo. ( KINKEAD: Where'd my Guiness go?) I don't want to die Sometimes wish I'd never suscribed at all. NETSPACER: I see a mega server ping-time of a man ALPHALINK ALPHALINK, can it be another antic? Unpluged cords and time-outs, very very amusing me! ALPHALINKER: 1 k per second, 1 k per second, 1 k per second I download. Add to my WOE-O-O-O-OH! I'm just a ALPHALINKER, nobody loves me. NETSPACER: He's just a ALPHALINKER, from a crap ISP Spare him his life from this farce mockery. ALPHALINKER: Newbies come, users go, Murphy let me go. MURPHY: I've fixed it! (NO, we will not let you go) ALPHALINKER: Let me go! MURPHY: I've fixed it! (We will not let you go) ALPHALINKER: Let me go! MURPHY: I've fixed it! (We will not let you go) ALPHALINKER:LET ME GO! MURPHY: WILL NOT LET YOU GO! ALPHALINKER:LET ME GO! MURPHY: WILL NOT LET YOU GO! ALPHALINKER:LET ME GO-O-O-O-OH! MURPHY: NO NO NO NO NO NO NO! NETSPACER: Oh ALPHALINKER, ALPHALINKER ALPHALINKER join with us. ALPHALINKER: At least Netspace has an account put aside for me, for meeeee, for MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! So you think you're God's gift to the Net in disguise, But you cut my connection and left me to die! Oh, ALPHALINK, can't do this to me ALPHALINK Just gotta get out, just gotta get out of this ISP. Nothing's fair for ALPHALINK, KINKEAD: Why is life like that? ALPHALINKER: Nothing's fair for ALPHALINK Nothing's fair for ALPHALINK, but it's me. Anywhere the bandwidth blows. . -- _Please_ e-mail as well as post replies to my messages! Time is not in my side during high-school.
