I tried to install on a friend's PC (Gateway w/ Promise ATA66 addin
card),
had to put the drives on the motherboard, to get redhat to see them.
Later after going through linux-2.4.0-test10 kernel options, I found that it
does
allow you to boot offboard chipsets, and supports promise cards.
The only way I know to get it to work now is to reattach your drives to
the motherboard
connectors, install, download patches from linux-ide.org, or the 2.4.0-test-n
kernel, apply
or install that software, then you can try reattaching the drives to the
ATA66/100 cards.
I know, it's ridiculous that redhat did not add support for this in their
install yet.
Good Luck,
Scott
