Steve is reported to have said: > I am having trouble with XFree86. <snip> the screen was unsteady (flickering when I would drag boxes etc.). <snip> > ----------------Steve > Steve, did you find a solution to your problem? I have similar symptoms on my laptop; Toshiba Tecra 8100, RH7.1, XFree86 4.0.3, glibc 2.2.2, S3 Savage/MX w/MV 290. The screen has "noise", sort of visual static, little flashed lines whenever the display is updated in Linux. I've tried searching around the internet, but your post is the nearest to the symptoms I get. I thought of updating to XFree86 4.1.0, but from your post it looks like this might not help. Any info or hints much appreciated. TIA Peter
