You need to download XFree86 3.3.6.x or newer version. Then visit the FAQ on
www.xfree86.org and  you will get
the answer; but, still you may find your mouse shape is a block (square
shape), I don't know what is the problem.

don't worry, it works fine, all you need is to live with it.
