Hello fellow linux users.

I have just set up a server to connect to the internet for the machines on
 my LAN.
I have a problem with the ppp connection though.
It sends data to modem because the RX and TX lights come up on the modem
but
after that it does not do anything.
I have done the following things to try to get it to work:
 1) Reinstall RedHat Linux
 2) Try 2 different ports ( same thing happens)
 3) Tried 2 different modems ( same thing happens)
4)set up the connection 5000000000000000000 times

 Please try and help.
 Thanks so much, Mark

ps: I have had a modem connect to the internet successfully on that
machine.
 I run redhat linux 6.1
