<G> Ayup yer right<G>   another person emailed me a website (
http://www.sfu.ca/~yzhang/linux/samba/index.html )  that did the
trick... partially.   I now have SWAT working and its a matter of more
learning I think to get smb features fully functional. 

The examples in the above link DO NOT match those in the man files and
that is still one of my main beefs with Linux, inaccurate information.
All to often it seems the person writing the mans and Howto's etc get
in a hurry.   Oh well the price is right and their pay sure a shootin'
ain't gonna buy to many latte's  <G>
