Get Slackware Linux at:ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/linux/slackware-3.5/
Or find the mirrors.txt and get your copy there.
The only place that I could find to download Redhat
was from their ftp site. Not that I've ever really looked
too hard.
You can also get Caldera lite at:
http://www.caldera.com/
From some link off of that page.
There's plenty of distributions of Linux, commercial, and
otherwise. You might want to give http://www.suse.com/index_us.html
a look too. I've never run SuSE but I hear it's a very well made
distribution. Someday I might give it a test drive myself.

Or better yet, use http://www.dejanews.com/ for quickanswers to many commonly
asked questions.
Also, http://sunsite.unc.edu/LDP/ or a mirror of this site
should be one of your favorite websites for a while.

Now for a few more of my favorite URLs

  http://www.ssc.com/lg/ < The Linux Gazette
http://www.cheapbytes.com/ < if you don't want to spend the next day
downloading files.
you can buy a Linux CD for as little as $2
http://www.ExecPC.com/lsm/ < The Linux Software Map (LSM) My favorite link for
people
who say that there's no software for Linux.
http://windowmaker.org/features.html < to give you a sneak peek at one of the
ways your
computer could look. getting things like this to work often involves some work.

I use http://www.afterstep.org/ it's been around for a while now and is quite
stable.
Then again there's a ton of Window Managers you can pick from
http://www.PLiG.org/xwinman/
http://www.zip.com.au/~bb/XawXpm/ < OK, so you want to be a real spaz.

Just remember, with open source you have TOTAL control!
