Hi,

I have had this problem for a while now and I really want to test RedHat
but I can't because of this F*cking problem.

When I boot up with my boot diskette, and chose General installation by
just pressing -ENTER- I starts to checking all my hardware, the CPU, RAM
memory, the PCI bus and so on. But after this lines:

IDE 182371 P11X (triton) on PCI bus 0 function 57

	IDE 0: BM.DMA at 0xffa0-0xffa7
	IDE 1: BM.DMA at 0xffa8-0xffa7

The system completely hangs and my disk drives is lightning but it
doesn't read anything and even if I take out the diskette it doesn't stop
lightning and either CAPS LOCK or any other key works. This happens also
before I take out the diskette.

What can be my problem?
Here's my hardware:

Fujitsu 2,5 GB IDE and Ultra-DMA is avalible if you install DMA but I
have'nt done that,
ET600 4 MB RAM graphic card, NEC FLOPPY drive, Pioneer 32x CD-ron DRIVE
IDE, a JET motherboard whit the TX chip and a Intel 233 MMX mhz CPU.

I use RedHat 5.0 and I'm a really "newbie" at this area.

By the way, _PLEASE_ send a CC to
daniel.mellgren@sundbyberg.mail.telia.com

Really thanks in advance,
//Daniel Mellgren

isn't it right ? intel triton chipset Busmaster DMA ...

check it again without cdrom (you have it on IDE 1 configured as master? dont
slow down your bus when both need it)
and last slow down your cpu (sometimes it may help at least while
installing)and do not use 100MHz on pci bus
(the bus can do it but maybe some pci-cards not !)
