Hello,
What are some peoples experiences of using Suse 8.0 Linux? And how does it
differ when compared to e.g Mandrake or Redhat
Ive always been looking to try this linux distribution, but havent due to
not being prepared to purchase a box with the distribution without trying it
first.

Thanks
Karun

You can try it out by downloading the live eval ISO. This runs off the
CD and will create files for loopback filesystems on the disk if it can,
for swap and home partitions. Obviously it's a bit slower to run
programs off and you won't get the full range of software on one CD but
it gives you an idea of the install (trouble free on most modern
hardware) and the desktop.

Or you could just download the boot-net.iso and install the real SuSE
8.0 over the network.
