Load packages in SuSE 6.4

Dear All,

I'm trying to use YaST -> Choose/Install Packages -> Load Configuration
to load the package configuration from one PC to another. I saved the
configuration of the first one on floppy, but when I choose <F9>=Floppy
it says that there are no configurations available. The floppy mounts
properly and I can see that configuration file and edit it from the
file manager.

Please help, what's going on?

Thanks heaps for any suggestions,
Victoria

Victoria,

I haven't used SuSe 6.4. But I have installed 6.3 and used its load
configuration feature.

There are a few things you might need to look at:
1) when you save the installation data, save it into a "formated" disk.
Make sure there is no bad sector.
2) when you save, give a name, e.g "mylinux"
3) when you mount the floppy, use Minix system. Your saved data should come
up at the bottom of the selections after you pressed F9.

Hope this helps. I am going to install SuSe 6.4 on another computer soon.
Hope I won't have the problem that you are having.

Cheers,
Dennis
