hi there again
i have two such USB ports on my machine
so how do u / i use them?
do i need to make a new kernel?
i am running rh6.1 and rh 6.0
i have not got it connected to the net yet
any comments, suggestions regarding this would be great

Yes, you'll need to do that, however not with the stock kernel nor any
of the 2.2.* series. You'll need to look into the development 2.3.*
series.
