its me tom here again
well as you know i have rh6.1
how do you change the screen resolution, after installation?
it is set on 640x480 but any way it is crap, open programs do not fit
on the screen they hang off, i can not resize them either.
i need to set it on 600x800 to fix it
when i had rh6.0 i did not have this problem, i just fiddle with it in the
installation.
thanx in advance
tom

You can run Xconfigurator from X. it's just slower.

Used to be that the program specifically warned you not
to do that. I see it doesn't anymore...

Quit X.

If you have to change /etc/inittab to boot up without X in order to
get a non-X window, do it.

Run Xconfigurator and fiddle till you get what you want.

You could also vi /etc/X11/XF86config (or something like that),
in the (last) section you will find your resoution and you can even set a
virtual
resolution when having a tiny monitor.
