I use RH6 box, and can't find the driver for my NIC(DE220 ISA). Can anyone
share the experience with that? Thanks very much.

I only used the NE2000 driver with my
d-link ISA, I could not find one either.

My NE2k wasn't recognized, either. Not by COL2.2, COL2.3 RedHat5.2 or
Mandrake 6.

Sounds like you need to read the docs on ISA-PNP,
otherwise, with the dos setup program that came with your NIC, you will need
to set it up in `jumperless' mode and write down the IO/IRQ you select and
supply that as arguments for your modprobe ne

EG: modprobe ne io=0x240 irq=9
                    ^^
                    Important.

Thanks, but... Been there, done that. Many times, actually, as I
reinstalled Mandrake 6 several times (not to mention Caldera). The report
is always the same: 'The network card cannot be found...'

The utility is also on the floppy that came with the card in the \setup
directory (it's called setup.exe IIRC).

If you're installing the card in a PCI box, be sure to reserve the IRQ for
"Legacy ISA" use in your BIOS.

I've built several firewalls using $50 486's that I found at used-computer
stores and I've used DE220's exclusively. They work great for me.
