I'm using RedHat 6.2 and I'm having a slight problem. I have 3 windows partitions and I'm running Linux on it's own partition. I linux I have mounted all my Win partitions but for some reason Linux changes name on two of my directories in windows to FSCK0000. Why is that and how do I prevent it? Plz email any answers to torgny_johansson@bigfoot.com Thanks

In your /etc/fstab, you will notice two numbers at the end of the mount designations. On your linux partitions that you are mounting htese are probably 1 2. On ANY windows drive you are mounting with fstab, these must read 0 0 or fsck will run on them. Fsck is not designed to work on fat partitons. Linux ext2 partitions are non fragmenting, were fat partitions are allowed to fragment by Windows. Matt M
