I have Redhat Linux, and for the root operator to get a ppp conection i have to type: /etc/ppp/ppplogin I have set the file to "755", thus users should be able to use the file, but the when i log in as a user and type the above line the it says /usr/pppd is not allowed to be touched by the user. How do I get this to work! Thanks for any help.

My way of working it is to do that then also set the ownership of the various files to root.ericr (I'm using redhat which sets a group for each user) so that only I or those I place in teh correct group can use pppd. Of course you don't need to be this restrictive if you aren't a control-freak like me :) Eric -- Eric Rose erose@ug.cs.usyd.edu.au
