Maybe you can get tintin to work in the background of you reroute the output from tintin to a file rather than standard output. One way this might work is if you have tintin set up so that if you run tintin it will just run your procedure, then the command "tintin > outputfilename&" would work fine in the background. :-) > I cannot access any windowing systems from my home modem hookup, as they are >all graphical based and need mouse control, etc. (I log in through a Mac at >home.) > Basically, I'd love it if you could email me a solution. Please respond with ANY suggestions. Get MacLayers for your Mac. You can have up to 6 windows, I think. It is available at rascal.ics.utexas.edu, in the unix/layers/MacLayers_1.10 directory. You want to get the Mac software, MacLayers_1.10k_SIT_hqx, to install on your Mac, and the UNIX interface to be installed in your account or preferably by your administrator. You can install it yourself but on some machines normal users don't have access to files needed by MacLayers so that your additional windows show up correctly on the "who" list, for example. >--yiyabob@leland.stanford.edu >------------------------------------------------------------------------------- >Matthew Ford: founder of Yin, Yang, & Bob Games.
